TheRealms is a small hobby cattery, so when queens are bred it is mainly to produce kittens that will go on to be the next show cats for the cat show season.
In 2006 I was relatively new to the cat world. I raised, trained and exhibited large dogs and horses before venturing into cats. After sixteen years of raising Rotweilers, it was most definitely time for a change. Eventually, research lead me to the world of Bengal cats! While searching, “Starbengal’s Splendor” appeared in the local newspaper. I was smitten with the photos of this gorgeous black and white spotted Bengal cat with his owner Earl Shropshire. It immediately commanded my interest. So I started on a quest to learn about Bengal cats as an alternative to dogs. It took 2 years to research and fast talking my husband into the idea of "Cats".
After we decided that it was time to take the big step to purchase our first Bengal, a Silver Bengal Female. A visit to Bob Torquato's cattery gave us our most prolific, “Outstanding Dam”, the beautiful Obobtor Platinum Ice of TheRealms.
My husband and I owe our success to several well known breeders, Bob Torquato, O'bobtor Bengals, for producing Ice. Linda Evans, Silvergene Bengals, for allowing us to breed Ice to Jean Luc. Connie and Chuck Pealer, Dreamland Bengals, for taking pity on us and helping with some of our best breeding’s. Les Hall, Junglebook Bengals, for taking the time to point us in the right direction with our silver Bengal program. The rest is history, which without God’s blessings would have remained a dream.
