Double Doodle

Double Doodles are beautiful, well-tempered dogs that make excellent pets. A Double Doodle- also commonly called the North American Retriever-is the hybrid between a Goldendoodle (golden retriever and poodle mix) and a Labradoodle (Labrador retriever and poodle mix.) They are good animals for the home because of the low-allergy, non-shed coat quality of the poodle in their bloodline. Also, they have happy personalities that make them wonderful playmates and beloved pets.

Depending on the parents, Double Doodles can be a variety of colors including black, white, cream, brown, chocolate, and red. Their sizes can range from small (15-20 lbs) medium (25-35 lbs) and large (45-55 lbs). A Double Doodle's coat can either be curlier or wavy and because of the non-shed quality, some grooming is recommended as it thickens over time.

Double Doodles have wonderful temperaments. They are bred to combine the people-oriented nature of the retrievers and the intelligence of the poodle. So you end up with a smart dog that is excited to please you.

Doodles are more likely to be free of defects because of the wide differences in genetics between the retrievers and poodles.
