All of our
Dogs are AKC registered and meet all the
requirements when released for adoption. We do not
allow our pups to be on the ground until well after
the first shot is given at 6 weeks of age.
We address the physical as well
as the psychological needs of the pups by close
human contact and socialization. We have found that
early socialization not only develops the pups
personality, but is a key factor to the dogs general
health. Much like a human baby needs close personal
contact to develop its emotional health, so does a
puppy.

| We have a
wonderful working relationship with our
veterinarians making health needs available around
the clock. Our breeders are well cared for and are
socialized and exercised daily. They too are kept
off the ground until play time and enjoy a roomy
kennel which is both heated in winter and cooled in
summer. Our kennels are constantly being improved
as needs are recognized. A happy, healthy adult dog
will produce a happy healthy puppy. |

raise quality pups, but finding them can be
difficult. So, we put thousands of miles on our van
each year, searching out these breeders, just so you
won't have to. We never ship our pups, or have them
shipped. Everything is done on a personal, in
person inspections only, and transported by us
personally, to insure proper care, and low stress
factors.

WHAT IS A BOXER?
If
you have owned a Boxer before, you will no doubt know everything we will
mention. If you have never owned a Boxer, prepare to fall in love with the
most beautiful, intelligent and intuitive dog known. First of all, as with
all puppies, you must understand that a puppy is a helpless baby until you teach
it what it needs to know. Boxers are highly intelligent and learn very
quickly. Even very young pups have been known to become completely
housebroken because he understands you and quickly realizes what is acceptable
and what is not. If you allow your pup to have a bad habit when it is a
baby, it will no doubt carry it throughout its life. Therefore, break bad
habits before they become an issue. |

Boxers instinctively love children and will guard
over them with a passion. Very few babysitters
would lay down their life as quickly in defense of
their charge as a Boxer will. Because of his
intelligence these wonderful dogs can assess a
situation quickly and accurately. They are slow to
anger, but if he does become angry he is a force to
be reckoned with. Originally bred in Germany, these
muscular dogs were used to hunt bear. They are
gentle when gentleness is needed and tough when
toughness is needed. Boxers instinctively protect
their family, and seem to know when protection is
needed. |

| Boxers make
perfect house dogs and indeed does better indoors.
His short, sleek coat does not generally provide
enough insulation against the elements. He is a
very social creature and will seek companionship
when none is available. Boxers are energetic,
playful and interested in everything. They are
clowns that will keep you laughing and are able to
change your bad mood in minutes. When you are sick,
he'll never leave your side. When you are happy, he
will bring his favorite toy and want you to play.
When you are sad, he will be sad with you and lick
the tears from your eyes. |

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Over the past 18 years we have
had many questions about Boxers from folks all over
the world , so we have listed a few of the most
frequently asked questions, and answers. I hope they
will help when choosing and caring for you Boxer.
1. Question: Is it true that
all white Boxers are deaf or blind?
Answer: NO! deafness, and
blindness is usually due to improper breeding
practices, or descendents from such dogs.
2. Question: How big should a
Boxer be?
Answer: Females should be
between 40 to 60 lbs. Males, 60 to 80 lbs.
3. Question: What is the
average life expectancy of a Boxer?
Answer: That would depend on
where you get your Boxer, and the care it gets
through out its life, but to just give you some
idea, “show dogs” have an average of 2 to 5 years,
usually due to breeding practices, and the stress
level while on the show trail. “Back yard breeders”
have an average of 5 to 8 years, usually due to
improper care of parents before breeding, and
improper care of the pups the first 6 weeks of
birth, or generally speaking, a lack of knowledge.
“Pet shops“ usually have about the same as back yard
breeders, but at the same time you will be spending
a lot more on health issues. “Responsible breeders”
have between 8 to 15 years due to their knowledge of
the Boxers history, their special needs, awareness
of possible health problems, and how to deal with
unexpected situations that comes only from many
years of experience.
4. Question: Should I feed my
dog table scraps?
Answer: YES! If there is one
thing I have learned over the years, it is dogs are
healthier, and live longer when you share your food
with your dog. Dog foods do have a lot of the
vitamins and minerals a dog needs, but they should
never be limited to dog food only.
5. Question: Who should I
trust with the health of my dog, my veterinarian or
my breeder?
Answer: That would depend on
exactly what the problem is, and where you bought
your dog. There are some things that only a vet can
help you with. But for most of the questions, and
solutions you have about your Boxer, you should
always trust your breeders advice first, providing
of coarse you bought your dog from a responsible
breeder. Most all qualified breeders will know 10
times more about there breed than a veterinarian.
6: Question: Is natural herbs,
or vitamin supplements really that important,
doesn’t dog food provide all of that?
Answer: NO!! Dog foods do not
provide everything a dog needs, and yes you should
always add a good supplement on a daily basis. It
is my opinion that if you cannot afford a good
supplement of herbs, vitamins and minerals, then do
not get a dog! A dog raised by a responsible
breeder will only be as good as a responsible owner!

NUVET PLUS VITAMINS
IMPORTANT WORDS OF WISDOM
CONCERNING BOXERS AND
OTHER HYBRID DOGS1.
Did you know most breeds of dogs are a hybrid?
2. Did you know hybrid dogs have a weaker immune
system?
3. Have you ever wondered why your Boxer doesn't
have as long of life
span as some breeds, and are also more likely to have more
health problems?
Let me explain!
If you do not know what a hybrid dog is, it is
simply any dog, or other animal, or plant that has
been altered by its natural genetics by adding one
or more breeds to the original to end up with a
desired trait. For instance, let's say you
want a gentle house pet like a basset hound, but you
want one that would have a lot more energy, so you
would breed a terrier to the basset hound and hope
to end up with just the dog you want. While
this is not always accomplished, the theory is
correct.
The immune system may be the cause of many costly
problems that arise in the course of a dog's life.
Let's look at some!
Since we deal with Boxers here at Tennessee Boxers,
let's see if you recognize any of these symptoms
that you have experienced or have heard of in the
past:
1. Heart murmurs and other heart related problems
2. Liver disease
3. Allergies
4. Weak stomachs (throwing up a lot)
5. Mange caused
by the demodex mite (also called hereditary mange)
6. Tumors
7. Cancers
8. Yeast infections (in ears)
These are a list of some of the main problems that you
may or may not have heard of. Other problems such as, hip
dysplasia, blindness and, deafness, are not usually associated with the
immune system, but instead falls under poor breeding or inbreeding.
Many show breeders fall into this category, but not all.
WHAT CAN WE DO THEN!!?
All we have to do is strengthen the immune system!
And how do we do this effectively!?
There is a very simple solution to this problem!
Nature has provided a number of natural herbs to aid in fighting immune
system disorders, and a company called NuVet Labs provides a herbal
vitamin that has been proven to be the most effective herbal supplement
on the market. I use them on my dogs daily, and offer extended
guarantees to all my customers who promise to keep their pups on this
vitamin. IT'S THAT IMPORTANT! This herbal vitamin is called

Statement of our Faith
Here at Tennessee Boxers, we
believe our success has depended solely on faith in
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without him in
our lives, there would no business called Tennessee
Boxers. We believe he was virgin born, and came to
this earth, died on a cross, and rose again the
third day to save us from all our sins. We believe
he is the son of God , and now sits at the right
hand of the father, and will come again some day
soon to take us home with him , and give us life
eternal. “Blessed is the name of the Lord!!”
