PRICES:
Our prices are near the top of the market, because when we priced lower, we had people buying and re-selling our pups, after lying about buying them for "a gift..a friend.or a pet". We do sell some pups for good family pets of sturdy size and character for $400 and up...so they aren't all expensive, yet, we do have lots of extra pretty pups, rare colors, fancy Champion pedigree pups, and show quality pups...that are pricey. You can buy puppies cheaper lots of places. I just hope if you do, that you're sure they and their parents come from good Breeders, and that you get what you're expecting. It's not always like that. I hear, a lot.

APPLICATION:
We want more than an application. Anyone can write what they think a Breeder wants to see. We care too much about our fur-babies to accept a form and the funds, and just ship a pup. Our puppies are more to us than animals, they are loved pets, and fur-kids. They are kissed and cuddled and named and loved. We expect the same from their future homes.

We want a phone call from you, so we can meet in person, or at least on the phone. We will discuss your home and family, your fencing, your housing plans, your experience, your schedule, your pet care knowledge, if you want to show or compete, your plans for breeding or neutering, and we'll get a sense of how much you love and pamper your pets. Don't worry, we aren't nuts, and we won't reject you if you love dogs, are willing to give them super premium foods and supplements, reasonable and regular vet care when needed, and happy lives with training, love, lots of fun and play and socialization. We do sell to Breeders who are ethical and loving. We don't sell to puppy mills, brokers, or pet stores. We do let novice pet owners and breeders adopt our babies IF they seem willing to follow our care protocol and appear willing to learn and care to do their best. We've found OUR pups advertised on other people's sites at higher prices. Be careful not to get defrauded by a Broker or faker. We've heard lots of complaints from people who sent money, and either never got a pup, or didn't get the pup they saw in the photo. One Breeder said she used our photos, because we took better pix and her puppies looked just like ours anyway. SURE. Our photo props identify our pups photos.

WHEN WE GIVE FULL AKC REGISTRATION:
Be honest with us. If someone just wants a pet, it will usually be sold without full AKC registration. This is to protect the puppy from some future emergency in your life that could cause it to be sold, out of an ad, and picked up by a puppy mill. Puppy mills almost always want full AKC to make their puppies seem valuable, and their operation to seem legitimate. Bad breeders and puppymills are always trying to get our puppies, because of our Champions and high Champion pedigrees. Again, we do sell to other Breeders who will treat their dogs like pets, not poultry, and who are trying to promote the sport/hobby of purebred dogs and pet keeping, and will breed to improve the breed, not just for sales.

Puppy mills are breeders who make the dogs live unhappy lives, often in cages, without play and socialization, without proper vet care, without careful breeding choices, without love and affection, just to produce puppies to sell. Some people who show a lot, have very unhappy dogs and filthy homes and cages, I've seen it, so showing dogs is no guarantee that you're buying from a happy healthy home either. It's very important to us to not ever let our dogs or their offspring live in bad conditions. You'll help us stop puppy mills if you simply refuse to buy at pet stores, or from a breeder who doesn't have good references, and lots of happy buyer letters. Dogs don't care if you're rich, or have a fancy home, just if they're loved, cared for, have room to run and play with dog friends, well fed, and have fun in the sun.

WE ARE REAL:
We're members of www.BetterBreeders.com a new company trying to make a difference in how Breeders are known for ethics. Ask other Breeders why they aren't members, usually it's because they're operating illegally and are trying to hide their identity. You're welcome to visit us. We're a licensed, inspected, 14 acre kennel. We pay taxes, we're real , and if you can't visit us, you're welcome to talk to lots of people who have. Our dogs run and play with groups of friends, outside, most of the day. They don't live in crates or cages, and are only separated into kennel runs, or puppy pens for heats, whelping, sleeping, or safe growing up as babies. We've sold hundreds of puppies, that we, or our friends, have raised, over decades, and are recommended/referred by our customers, our vets, even other Breeders .

Our dogs have toys, and playgrounds, and are happy and friendly. We bred from home for 30 years with 3-5 dogs at our house, and more at foster homes, and friends and relatives homes, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as the dogs are happy healthy pets. The problem begins when breeders operate with dozens of dogs, in too small a space, without inspections or licenses of any kind. Those Breeders can lose control. Don't be fooled, it takes the active Breeders, who breed more than 5 litters a year, to create higher quality dogs and make a difference in a breed. The occasional Breeder isn't doing anything to make superior quality purebreds available for the future, and if they sound holy because they only have one litter every two years, realize that they can't even know what they're creating, or adjust their breeding program in time to do better at that slow rate. Unfortunately, occasional breeding is all that's permitted in most towns, so there's the dilemma. Few Breeders can afford the land, expensive buildings and fencing, and license fees to breed legally and with permits. Home Breeders should be legally permitted if they're responsible.
Millions of American's want dogs, and want them bred by people with lots of experience. So, who is that? Only licensed kennels? Or active home/hobby Breeders, who aren't permitted or inspected? This catch 22 needs to be resolved. Breeders should all have permits.

You're able to adopt a superior quality, healthy, beautiful, well bred dog, ONLY because some Breeders, dedicated their home, lives ,time, money, and effort to creating and producing and sharing them. ONLY the Breeders who put their dogs happiness, and producing superior quality ABOVE money or saving effort, count as ethical Breeders.

We reserve the right to refuse service or to sell to anyone who we perceive as unethical, mean, dominant, reckless, hostile, careless, bossy, or un-coachable. If you're not nice, our pups don't want to live with you. If you're nice, loving, and want a fur-kid to pamper, do call us ! If you're a preachy nutcase, who doesn't believe in Breeding..bug someone else.

DEPOSITS:
We take only $100.00 deposit to show that you're committed to a puppy. You do not have a "hold" on a puppy until a deposit is accepted by us. We usually talk to several people about each puppy, and some people are slow to decide, or get approval from family or landlords. We cannot disappoint a loving person, who's ready to decide now, because you've called or visited and said you're interested. You snooze, you lose...but you'll fall in love again.

PRE-DEPOSITS:
Our past buyers, and their friends, usually know that they don't want to buy from anyone but us at SugarNSpice/Kimmelot. People who are pre-approved, or past buyers, and often have deposits in , just waiting to see the pup they want posted, get first dibs. You can do this too. Without choosing a puppy, when you're sure you want to buy from us, you can send a deposit, and get on our waiting list, then when new litters are born, or released for deposit, the first person, pre-approved, and on the waiting list, who asks for a pup, gets to hold it. This is especially nice if you're waiting for rare colors, tiniest size, or a show prospect. For instance you can tell us you want the next black spotted on white longcoat born.
Repeat buyers who've sent us pix of of their happy puppies growing up, are pre-approved, and get $100.00 discount on future adoptions too. That means your 2nd, 3rd, 4th SugarNSpice puppy is $100.00 off for repurchase discount.

Deposits, or payments, ARE NOT REFUNDABLE, but are transferable to a later litter, for any reason. Sometimes people get sick, get suprised with vacation trips, have their engine blow up, need to help relatives ,or have to relocate, while they have a puppy on hold. They don't lose their deposit, or even full payment for a puppy, they still have a credit when they're ready to choose a puppy again. Deposits are not holding two or three puppies while you decide. You cannot hold a puppy away from another buyer, unless you're commited to that puppy. A pre-deposit is just on file, ready to be used at an instant, on the puppy you tell us to hold. It doesn't hold more than one puppy, while you decide. The reason that deposits and payments for puppies are NOT refundable, is because of human nature, it's the only way we know to decipher between impulsiveness and committed buyers.

TYPE OF PAYMENT:
At this time, we have no way of verifying your ID. Identity theft , bad bank checks and money orders, and out of the U.S. con artists, are runaway problems. Therefore, we only accept deposits by cash or US POSTAL Money Orders.

We ONLY accept full payment and shipping fees by cash, US POSTAL Money Orders, Western Union (which will cost about $ 70.00 per $1000.) or bank wire transfer to our Wells Fargo account.
We DO NOT take PayPal.
We DO NOT accept personal checks, Bank money orders, or cashier checks, or credit cards. If you need to make payments on your puppy, you could go to your bank, take a cash advance on your credit card, and make very small comfortable payments that way, we do NOT have a payment plan. You could also get a small loan at Beneficial. We aren't a Bank. We have to keep our time and energy focused on keeping our pets healthy and happy, we don't have time to check credit, chase payments or resolve check issues.

We can't accept deposits with no name attached, or address, or phone. And be sure you've called and gotten pre-approved before sending a deposit. If the deposit is meant for a specific puppy,
don't wait for your check to arrive, call Dawn, track her down on phone or cell, email, and be sure you connect, and Dawn knows you're first to hold that puppy. Time is of the essence.

Dawn has to do all of the computer work, so Gene has to do all the banking, and record keeping, that's fair. We also take payments and deposits for our friends/families pups, that we advertise for them, and our friends/families pups have the same guarantee as our pups.
FRIEND'S PUPS, CO-BREDS, STUD SERVICE, TRADES, FOSTERS, REFERRALS:

Usually if we are advertising friend's pups, it's because they have bred to our stud, or bred a girl dog they got from us, or they work and need us to raise their puppies because they're gone too much, or they are raising and socializing a litter for us, or they only have one or two females and can't afford websites, or don't know how to email or "do" computers. If we "refer" you, and you buy from a breeder friend of ours directly, you're buying from them with their guarantee. If we collect your money, and hand you or ship you a puppy, it's under our guarantee, even if it was bred by a friend, or only a puppy trade, or stud service puppy to us.

If you are in the SugarNSpice "family" because you bought your dogs from us, we can post puppy pix for you too. Cost for this is by "private treaty". If we just give a referral we charge 10%. If we have to raise the litter, approve the buyer, collect the funds, fill out the guarantees and registrations, and drive 4-6 hours to ship the puppy at the airport, we're going to have to charge more, depending on our efforts. All your puppies must be vet checked, very healthy, up to date on vaccines, wormings and eating well, and social.
All puppies sold must be guaranteed by you to SugarNSpice, and if we replace a puppy for you, you owe us. All puppies must be superior quality to at least good breed type pet quality. We only refer , advertise for, guarantee, mentor, and assist, loving , friendly, easy going, ethical breeders. We prefer members of www.BetterBreeders.com . We don't have time or energy, for fanatics, fighters, gossips, complainers, nuts, selfish people, or people who don't treat their pets better than most people get treated. We reserve the right to only assist people that we agree with, and those who are responsible.

HOW OLD BEFORE YOU GET THEM 6,8,10, 12 weeks?:
Chihuahua puppies are often kept by us at least 12 weeks, due to some of them being fragile babies, who are prone to vaccine reactions, bouts of bacterial overgrowth, or low blood sugar attacks, before they start developing a good immune system at 12 weeks. If you're allowed to take your puppy home younger, it will be because you're a Breeder, an expert caretaker, a medical professional, a super stay at home mom, or the puppy is especially sturdy and did not ever show any slumps, off color -off feed bouts, or diarrhea with weaning, wormings and vaccines. They only go home early, if someone's home most all the time.
Baby chihuahuas are each different in their ability to mount early immune responses, ability to digest food, ability to have their liver handle toxins, or digest fat for energy instead of burning sugar. Adult chihuahuas tend to be sturdy and live twice as long as big breeds, but they require special tender loving care as babies, so you must accept our discernment about which puppy is ready to go home, with which buyer, at what age. We have taken home, and sent home puppies as young as 6 weeks of age, safely, but if you go to work all day, don't even ask to take one that young. Babies so young need close supervision, and special care.
We know you're dying to get your puppy, but we'd rather you suffer...than our fur-kid. :)

SHIPPING:
We do ship Chihuahuas worldwide. Usually by Delta, Continental, Alaska or United Airlines. We choose the airline, the route and the times, to keep the puppy as un-stressed as possible. Also, we go with airlines who have proven to keep our puppies safe. So far we've never suffered worse than a cold or a flea from shipping.
Shipping usually runs $225.00 within the continental US. , and $ 250.00- 300.00 to other countries. We ship the puppies with warm pillow beds, in cool weather heating pads + blankets. They also have dishes, toy, chewie and a litter box for their comfort. The crate size is 18 x19 x 26, which you get to keep for crate training, and travel, and will fit your chihuahua all it's life. Other countries usually require puppies be over 6 months old.
All shipping fees are paid to us in advance, as we know that if for some reason you get there forgetting your checkbook or that your credit card is full, our puppy might be sent to a kennel while you make another trip, and we don't want to risk puppy getting stressed or sick. So, pups and shipping must be paid fully in advance. Two puppies can fly in the same crate, for one charge, so get two so you can watch them play together, and save on shipping, or get together with a friend, and have two pups shipped together. Plus there's a $100.00 discount on the second puppy, so you save $ 325.00.

UPDATED PHOTOS:
We try to update our pix on the website, every couple of weeks, but if we're busy, then new pix are allowed to wait. Sales never come before watching pregnant moms, or keeping up puppy care, our family, or entertaining visitors at Kimmelot Pet Resort . If your puppy is being held on a deposit, you'll find updated pix, if they happen, under the album "Chihuahua puppies with deposits holding them". And with Webshots, you can order photo prints of your puppy, T-Shirts with your puppy's photo, or even a mug with your puppy's photo. We also suggest you and your friends plan a puppy shower ! :) Enjoy your puppy shopping, we try to keep it as simple and fun as possible. That's why we're so highly recommended and re-used ! We answer emails faster than phone calls. So feel free to write often as you like.

PUPPY FOLDER:
When you pick up your puppy, it will come with a folder, with a shot/worming record, puppy care instructions, Buyer's Guarantee and Agreement, vitamin/supplement sample, puppy food, a tube of Nutrical Supplement for younger pups, AKC and Pedigrees for pups sold for breeding or show or when applicable. Some of us register with CKC instead of AKC.
Pet puppies to be neutered are usually not sold with registration, as it's only good for show or breeding. Pedigrees can be copied off our website for our own adults.

VISITING US AT KIMMELOT/ SUGARNSPICE:
You're welcome to visit us usually Monday - Saturday 11-3pm, but you'll need to let us know in advance that you want to come, or risk us being off at a store or having another appointment lined up. If you give us some notice, we can also have friends bring their puppies over for you to see. When you arrive, you'll have the soles of your shoes sprayed with disinfectant, and purell for your hands. Sunday is family day, and Dawn is usually gone.
