The Korean Mastiff is also known as Dosa Inu or Mee Kyun Inu. The origin of the breed is unclear, but it is generally assumed that the dogs are the result of crossbreeding native Malosser type dogs with animals brought by visiting Europeans, including the Dogue de Bordeaux. Some also believe there is American Bloodhound in the original gene pool. In any case, since the creation of the Dosa Inu in the 1800s, a significant amount of inbreeding occurred in Korea.
