An Owner's Toy Poodle Description
He may be small, but he's got a lot of spunk and energy; in fact, our Toy may be the perfect visual example of the term 'full of life'. Spunky's constantly looking for things to do, ways to play and a new strategy to get our attention. One of the cutest things he does is hide behind a piece of furniture and 'talk' in a low voice. He'll do this, ignoring our calls, until we find him. He loves this game of Hide and Seek.
He also likes gathering up things throughout the house and taking them to his bed or toy box. When one of our shoes comes up missing or the girls can't find one of their dolls, it's usually with Spunky. He hates to relinquish his newly claimed treasure and will offer a complaint growl when we take them back. While this Finders Keepers game is fun for him, it can be more than a bit annoying for us. But since he never chews on the items he steals, we don't make a big disciplinary thing of it.
Spunky is a huge hit with most people, especially with the girls. Our daughter and her friends spend hours playing beauty salon, combing and putting bows in his hair. If he could only see how silly they make him look, he might have second thoughts about playing the customer. On the other hand, he may consider the attention worth the trade off. To his credit, he has drawn the line when it comes to playing dress up. They got a doll dress on him over his protests; he wore it for about a minute and then off it came, getting torn in the process. The girls took it in stride and now they specialize only in hair styles.
