General Description
The Goldendoodle is average in size with a shoulder height of 20 to 25 inches, but much depends on the size of his parents. Miniature or Toy Poodle mixes tend to be smaller. Being a crossbreed, the Goldendoodle tends to exhibit a wide variety of appearances. Thinner coat and a shorter muzzle is seen by those having more Poodle influence, while a wider neck and a long muzzle is observed in those showing more influence of the Golden Retriever. The coat of Goldendoodles may be shaggy and wavy, or shaggy / wavy with loose curls. They do not have the Standard Poodle's curly coat or the flat coat of the Golden Retriever. On average, puppies will experience a dozen coat changes from birth to one year old. Goldendoodles' single coat sheds very lightly, and once it is fully formed, it requires little to no maintenance.
