Munchkin Breed Description
This cat has unusually short legs and comes in a variety of colors. Munchkins are very loving with sweet personalities. They are a natural genetic mutation, not man made. The mutation is a gene that causes achondroplasia, which makes their legs vastly shorter than those of other cats. Their quality of life is not hampered by this genetic mutation. They can do anything any other cat can do, but do it a lot cuter. The first munchkin cat dates from 1983, when a Louisiana breeder discovered a local cat with the mutation. Munchkins live normal healthy long lives and are sociable, affectionate cats. They make great companions.Pets4You offers listings of Munchkin breeders.
